There are no bio-hazardous materials within the unit; however this unit could be used with bio-hazardous samples. Before using the DMV-Bio Cell under such circumstances the customer should have in place decontamination procedures designed to protect laboratory workers from occupationally acquired infections. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the DMV-Bio Cell is used in a safe working environment.

Immediately after use you are advised to wipe the sample area with suitable cleaning wipes such as KimWipes. In case there is left over sample that has dried out, fibre optic cleaning sticks (Sticklers) can be used to remove excess impurities and provide a visibly clean area. It is also possible to immerse the DMV-Bio Cell in dH2O or a solution of biological washing detergent to remove particularly sticky solutions such as proteins.

Handling Information

The DMV-Bio Cell is resistant to chemicals and solvents. A possible minor delamination effect on the fixed window bond was observed with 10% phenol and the same effect is likely to be observed when using acetone. A leachate on window indicates precipitation of dissolved material.
